AADUM CHIDAMBARAMO
The cosmic dancer

Niru-040.jpeg

This piece is a joyful celebration of Lord Shiva, the cosmic dancer of the Universe and one of the principal deities of the Hindu tradition.

Bharatanatyam is believed to have originated from Lord Shiva himself, whose eternal dance, known as the Tandava, is the very rhythm of the cosmos.
As Nataraja, the Lord of Dance, his movements are known to both create and destroy creation.

Through lively pure dance (nritta) and expressive storytelling (abhinaya), this piece which is rich in devotion, describes his graceful movements, the splendor of the golden hall in Chidambaram where he performs, and the spiritual bliss that radiates from his eternal dance.
